Alicia McMane

Wearing her weird all day long

I’m Alicia McMane, a certified trainer and life coach, living in small-town Alberta. A mother of three boys, I was indirectly guided by my children in creating the Wear Your Weird movement.

I never wanted my kids to feel the pressure to fit in, hide who they are, stuff their feelings or adapt their behaviour to please me, my husband or anyone else who has a role in shaping their identity.

I’m on a mission to impact thousands of young people’s lives through the Wear Your Weird program, by helping as many as possible to begin the process early of discovering and claiming who they truly are.

When kids understand themselves, they learn to be comfortable in their own skin, to embrace their strength and power to be better versions of themselves each day, and to help create a kinder, more accepting world.

They no longer have to hide in a crowd, blend or fit in.

They are free to wear their weird, proud of who they are and what makes them who they are, and to let the world see them as openly as if the weird they are wearing were the clothes on their back.
